Just got done watching the Royals game and glanced over the GFS. It’s not looking real promising for tornadoes anytime soon in the plains. The middle of next week a tropical storm/hurricane coming off the Pacific is forecast to make landfall in Mexico and then tie back into the jet stream and come through the plains the middle of next week. I’ll take a closer look at it tomorrow, but that could potentially bring some severe weather to the plains. After that the GFS shows the plains being under the back side of a massive trough, which is pictured above. That pattern would bring cold air into the plains and shove any moisture down into the gulf. Good for duck hunting, but not so good for storm chasing. I’ll take a closer look at that tropical storm and the remainder of the forecast period tomorrow.
