I got out of town an hour ago. I was on calls for a good chunk of the day so I had no time to post. No changes to the going forecast though so see my last two forecast post for details. Just sitting here by Norwich Kansas watching little baby turkey towers struggling to go up which are pictured above. I’m not expecting anything today really, but this is a good chance for me to test equipment and make sure everything is working. It’s not lol. Already a few minor issues so I’m out here troubleshooting and talking to locals.
Looking at radar and the scarce surface obs you get in Kansas, there are kind of two NE to SW convergence lines running through south central Kansas. I’m watching the southern one for any chance of a storm possibly spinning up a weak tornado. I’m sitting north of it, but I can see the towers. Dewpoints are better along and south of that line with surface winds backing along/north of it. Below is a radar pic where I drew the two convergence lines I’m talking about.
So for now sitting tight. Not expecting anything good but it’s nice to be back in the field.
